Atlas Elevator No 5

There is a facility far to the north of Enoch, deep in the Land of Nod, that defies explanation. An advanced but otherwise deserted base that plays host to over a dozen buildings, big and small, all of which contained within slanted concrete walls topped with barbed wire. Its most striking feature, however, is a now crumbling orbital elevator. The people who built it are long gone but their technology is still there, left behind and waiting for anyone who makes it that far, nevermind trespass. Super Computers, fusion cores, and androids are just a small sample of what can be found there. In fact, despite its growing state of disrepair, the whole place still has power thanks to a cold fusion reactor which itself would make a huge prize. Of course, not everything works as it should these days after so many years of neglect and things like doors may need a little bit of engineering or redirecting of power to be made operational. Interestingly all writing on site is in English - or Common - including the signs at the main entrance. These read "Atlas Elevator No. 5" which would imply there are at least four other facilities but no other has been found so far. Guilds that have made the long trek to the Atlas Elevator, and managed to get it working, have reported a large space station at its zenith. That, even at its height, is still implausibly dwarfed by the tower. However, of it little was explored due in some small part to failing systems but also because of threats lurking in and around Atlas Elevator No.5. Strange and ever changing threats.
Early expeditions reported rogue or berserk robots that attacked visitors indiscriminately. Another later group were apparently assailed by unidentified aliens. Just recently the Crazy 8 Guild informed the Collegium that they had been attacked by men in black suits and black shades. If the stories are to be believed, the menace that lurks within No. 5 changes with every visit. It's a theory that is not easily tested, however, because No.5 is far away from Enoch and deep in Nod. The further away from the Eternal City, the more dangerous things become so only the most prepared and or skilled can make it out there. Those that do and survive can expect to make small fortunes off the loot they bring back.
